A great evening of music

The other night a new friend, Carolyn Talbot, gave a few of us tickets to see a Brott Summer Musical Festival presentation.  The night was called Classically Celtic and it featured Stephanie Cadman and the National Academy Orchestra.  I really enjoyed the blending of classical music with a stepdancing fiddler.  I love Canadian music!!!!  Thanks Carolyn.

great quote

I found a quote from an early critic of Christianity (2nd century) as quoted by Mirslav Volf in Theological Reflections on the Relation Between Church and Culture in 1 Peter.

"If all men wanted to be Christians, the Christians would no longer want them."

Celsus in Origen, Contra Celsum 3,5.7.9

slow blogging

Okay, so I have been somewhat of an absent blogger lately.  It's because I have been having fun away from the computer this summer.

A quick update.

Just spent a great week with Deanne and Phil, Nicholas and Matthew (sister-in-law and family).  We swam, went to Marineland, McDonald's, and the park, played catch and had an all around good time.

Oh, the other thing that happened - Leanne and I bought our first house!!!

The pictures will come.

I love summer.

Permanent Position

Last week I was just offered a permanent position in the church that I am working in with Leanne (I was on a contract until August).  So Leanne and I are now the permanent pastoral staff at Mount Hamilton Baptist Church.  We are so excited to be working together.  Yippie!!!
